The ranking indicates and evaluates domestic units the most active outside the country. It also shows that these companies not only contribute to the economy and political potential of Poland, but also play a significant role in the social and economy development. The authors of the report say that the concept of combining the largest Polish companies in order to achieve the effect of a scale and to use occurring synergies, are not limited to state-owned companies. In December 2016, FAMUR started the procedure of taking over the KOPEX Group, and later on the integration of these two entities. Through this transaction FAMUR completed the process of consolidation of domestic mining sector and expanded its presence on foreign markets.
