On 25 April 2017 FAMUR SA was awarded the Eagle of the Rzeczpospolita newspaper in the category of Production Company 2016. This prestigious award was given to the company in the ranking of the fastest and most efficiently growing companies selected from the 'List of 500', in which the largest Polish enterprises are included.
The awards were presented at the official ceremony of 19th Edition of the List of 500 Largest Companies, prepared by the editors of the Rzeczpospolita newspaper. The awards were granted in three categories: production companies, financial companies, service and trading companies. They were given to the representatives of the enterprises which in the past year stood out with outstanding results and dynamic development. The Eagles of the Rzeczpospolita newspaper have been awarded for 17 years.
– The prestigious award granted to FAMUR today by the Rzeczpospolita newspaper confirms the effectiveness of our actions and consequence in strengthening the position of the Group as a provider of comprehensive solutions for the mining and energy industries. Our results for 2016 showed that the development strategy pursued by FAMUR, based on the modern products, diversification of revenue sources and rational financial policy, is the right direction. It guarantees revenue increase and profit generation, which provides a strong foundation for our current operations. Thus, the company can focus on strengthening its position in the domestic market and abroad. In short, our example shows that mining ‘is still ok!’ – says Mirosław Bendzera, the President of the Management Board of FAMUR SA. – The takeover of KOPEX by TDJ SA. last year was one of the largest acquisition in the machinery industry in recent years, which opened the way for the consolidation of the mining-related industry in Poland under FAMUR Group. We believe that an integration of both entities will result in the formation of a strong Polish company, offering a complete range of equipment and services which ensure comprehensive management of energy and mining projects around the world. In combination with better prospects for the development of the mining industry which involve an increase in capital expenditure on the modern mining technologies, including the outlays for the purchase of mining machinery and equipment, FAMUR has optimal conditions for the intensification of the Go Global international expansion programme which serves as the basis for further development of the company – adds Mirosław Bendzera.
The Eagle of the Rzeczpospolita newspaper statuettes, awarded since 2001, are given to the companies based on the indicators that determine the efficiency and stability of the company as well as its ability to develop. The Jury chooses the companies from among the businesses which have been classified by the Rzeczpospolita newspaper in the prestigious ranking of the List of 500 Largest Polish Companies.
