The main idea of the of the Factory of Social and Civic Competences project is education. Through a series of specially prepared workshops, our staff formed a team of volunteer coaches who worked with young people and shared their knowledge on social issues. During a few months of the campaign, 10 educators from Famur reached 370 young people.
In the first stage of the project, together with TDJ Foundation, we organized training sessions on youth work activities and training skills for 10 people employed in several departments of the FAMUR Group. It was only later that the employees-educators conducted their own workshops dedicated to children and teenagers. They taught them, among other things, how to use the Internet safely, what the citizens’ budget is, how a large company operates or what skills are useful in a professional work.
– During the project I learned that well-prepared workshops have a real, positive impact on the lives of people around us – said Maciej Krętosz, one of 10 educators.
The volunteers held meetings with young people at a summer camp run by TDJ Foundation, but also in schools in three voivodeships: Śląskie, Małopolskie and Łódzkie (Silesian, Lesser Poland and Łódź Voivodeships).
The Factory of Social and Civic Competences project was co-funded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy under the Operational Programme Civic Initiatives Fund.
